Janet du Plessis spent 2 valuable decades as an actress working dominantly in Johannesburg. She was fortunate to work with acting legends like Antony Quinn , Rex Garner and Simon Sabela in theatre, radio drama and Film/TV. Moving to Cape Town in 1992, Janet joined Pieter Toerien Productions as Pieter’s publicist at THE THEATRE ON THE BAY and is very grateful to him for that grounding in the business side of the industry. Together with her previous acting agent, Penny Charteris – a legend in herself – Janet opened Artistes Personal Management cc post 1994 when international work started to flow into Cape Town.Artistes Personal Management cc opened in 1996 with a handful of artists in a small shared space with a sound studio and a fax machine! We represent the most talented Actors and Voice Artists in the country and we aim to grow with the industry we serve and are proudly South African.
